For our current study “Key mechanisms of physiological and disease-related impaired motor control”, we are looking for healthy volunteers to assist us.

KEY MECHANISMS OF PHYSIOLOGICAL AND DISEASE-RELATED IMPAIRED MOTOR CONTROL

Aim of the study

We are investigating the mechanisms that are important for the functioning and control of our hand functions. The aim is to optimize therapy options for patients with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, depression, dementia or tic disorders. To this end, the clinic is looking for healthy control subjects of all ages.

Your tasks

During the study, standardized motor tests will be performed to examine the strength and dexterity of both hands. In addition, brain activity is measured at rest and during the performance of simple motor tasks using MRI imaging.

Who can participate?

We are looking for healthy control subjects:
With intact motor function of both hands,
without psychiatric or neurological pre-existing conditions,
without MRI contraindications (for example, pacemakers, metallic or electrical implants (tooth retainers, plates in extremities, cochlear implants, vascular clips), large tattoos, pregnancy, claustrophobia)

Where and When?

The study takes place at the University Hospital Cologne and lasts about 3 hours. If required, the testing can be split over two days. Further, we can organize individualized transport.

Remuneration

The remuneration for participating is 15 euros per hour.
